The Truman Parent Teacher Organization sponsors fun social events throughout the year, events for our children, families, teachers and school staff to participate in together. The PTO also provide our students with extra items for their school and classrooms (items not covered in the Truman Elementary School budget provided through the district.).
The success of PTO events depends on parent and teacher involvement. In the past we’ve been fortunate enough to have several volunteers to work at events. We would love to see an increase in the number of people on the different committees that plan the events. On the following pages that list the PTO events there is included a brief summary of what is entailed in the planning of each event. Please take a moment to sign up to work, plan, or do both.
Meetings are open to everyone and we hope you will take the time to join us. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the school. These meetings are the “nuts and bolts” of the PTO. Decisions are made on how the money should be spent, event planning updates, and other pertinent information related to Truman School. Babysitting is available at no charge. Attending these meetings is a great way to become more informed and involved in your child’s education.
In the past, money earned through the PTO has gone to cover new technology, new gym equipment, the walking trail around school grounds, and the official Truman Elementary sign in front of our building.
